Sign-up instructions
Sign-ups for the event are done throughĀ RK9 Labs platform, and you will first need to set up your RK9 profileĀ and have aĀ Play! PokĆ©mon Player ID.
Sign-ups are R$315 for Masters players and R$190 for Senior and Junior players,Ā and they open in two waves:
- Wave 1 on 22 September at 19:00 BRT (22:00 UTC)
- Wave 2 on 23 September at 09:00 BRT (12:00 UTC)
If the player cap is not reached, sign-ups close one week before the event, on 15 November at 23:59 BRT (16 November at 02:59 UTC).
For registered players, team lists must be submitted 3 hour before the event starts, by 20 NovemberĀ at 06:00 BRTĀ (09:00 UTC).
Multi-day spectator passes are R$65, while single-day passes (for Friday, Saturday or Sunday) are R$25. All of them can be purchased from 29 September at 19:00 BRT (22:00 UTC) here.
* Spectator passes had originally been announced to open on 23 September at 11:00 BRT (14:00 UTC), but further information and the actual date was released later on that day.
LAIC Travel Award recipients
The players with most Championship Points (CP) in the Travel Award standings from each TPCi region at the end of the LAIC Travel Award period (16 February to 14 June 2026) earned Travel Award prizes for this tournament:
- Top 4 players in North America, Europe and Oceania receive a $3,500 Travel Award ($5,000 for minors)
- Top 4 players in Latin America receive a $2,000 Travel Award ($2,500 for minors)
- Players ranked 5th to 8th in each region receive a $1,000 Travel Stipend
- Top 16 players in North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania receive priority registration.

Badges can be picked up on Thursday 19 November from 10:00 to 20:00 BRT, and early on Friday from 07:15 BRT.
Masters players must be in the venue byĀ 20 November at 09:00 BRTĀ (12:00 UTC) for the players meeting. The tournament starts thereafter with the Swiss rounds.
Masters players still on the run in Day 2, as well as all Senior and Junior players, must be in the venue byĀ 21 November at 09:00 BRTĀ (12:00 UTC) for the team checks. The next Swiss rounds and the Top Cut will be played thereafter.
Finals are held on Championship Sunday,Ā 22 November at around 15:00 BRTĀ (18:00 UTC)Ā for Juniors, then Seniors, then Masters. These matches are played afterĀ PokĆ©mon GO and PokĆ©mon TCG finals.

Overview
The Latin America International Championships, or LAIC, is one of the three official TPCi International events for PokƩmon VGC, PokƩmon TCG and PokƩmon GO, alongside the Europe and North America Internationals. For VGC, it is the first International Championship of the 2027 season.
It is the eighth edition of LAIC. It has been celebrated yearly since the 2017 season, except in 2021, 2022 (both years due to the COVID-19 pandemics) and 2023 (held only for PokƩmon TCG and PokƩmon GO). See the results of the previous editions:

- 2018, won by Carson Confer, 2016 Senior Division World Champion
- 2019, won by Ashton Cox, for the 2nd time
- 2020, won by James Baek
- 2024, won by Marco Silva, 2020 OCIC Champion
- 2025, won by Marco Silva for the 2nd time (and for a record-breaking 3rd International win)
- 2026, won by Yuma Kinugawa, 2025 PJCS Champion
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists.
A little bit of history
BrazilĀ has been part of the Latin America region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted multiple major events, including Regionals, Special Events and all editions of the Latin America International Championships. Brazil’s greatest VGC successes are the top 4 finish at the 2026 World Championships by JoĆ£o Felipe Leite, and the International Championship second places achieved byĀ Gabriel AgatiĀ (twice)Ā and Thiago Lattanzi.
The most recent tournament held in BrazilĀ was theĀ 2027 Recife Regional Championships, also played in the VGC Regulation Set M-C in October 2026.
The last time the Latin America International Championships were held was theĀ 2026 edition, also hosted in SĆ£o Paulo, Brazil, and played in PokĆ©mon Scarlet & PokĆ©mon Violet with the VGC Regulation Set H in November 2025. The finals saw 2025 PJCS Champion Yuma KinugawaĀ defeat 2025 Rio de Janeiro Regional Champion Juan Salerno to win his first International and second major title! It was the first time someone from outside the TPCi rating zones won an International Championship!
AmericanĀ James Evans, theĀ 2018 Senior Division World Champion, defeated BrazilianĀ Gabriel AgatiĀ in the NAIC finals.
