This ruleset will include Rillaboom, Baxcalibur and brand-new Z Mega Evolutions! It will be the official ruleset of VGC from 9 September to 2 December 2026.

Japanese player Takuma Yamazaki is the new Pokémon VGC World Champion! Using a Mega Dragonite + Mega Floette team, he defeated 2026 JCS Champion Hiroshi Onishi, who had a Mega Charizard Y + Mega Floette team, in an exciting 3-game set.

The tournament will be streamed by TPCi on 28–30 August, but different matches from those will be broadcast in English (with Andrew Tham, Dillon Kleinvehn, Hayden McTavish, Kosta Daidimos, Matt Maynard and Simon Van der Borght as casters) and in Spanish by Victory Road!
