Overview

The Nice Regional Championships is an official TPCi Regional-level event for Pokémon VGC, TCG and Pokémon GO. It is the second Regional-level event of the 2027 season in the European circuit.

The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists.

A little bit of history

France has been part of the Europe region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted multiple major events, including Special Events, Regional Championships and old-era National Championships.Ā France’s greatest VGC success are the top 16 places thatĀ Hippolyte BernardĀ (2022) and ThĆ©otime Massaut (2025) achieved at the World Championships, as well as the France National Championship titles won by Adrien BouletĀ (2010) and Lionel Fey (2011).

The most recent tournament held in France was the 2026 Lille Regional Championships, played in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet with the VGC Regulation Set H in October 2024. The finals saw 3-time International Champion Marco Silva defeat 2022 World Champion Eduardo Cunha to win his second Regional and fifth major title. Marco would go on to win yet another Regional-level event later in the season!

The last time there was an event in the Provence-Alpes-CĆ“te d’Azur region was theĀ 2019 Cannes Special Championships, played in PokĆ©mon Ultra Sun & PokĆ©mon Ultra Moon with the VGC19 Moon Series format in February 2019. The finals saw French player AurĆ©lien ForestĀ defeat 2018 Sheffield Regional Champion Michelle GavelliĀ to win his first major title!
