The World Champion Invitational was organized by Victory Road and streamed in 10 languages and 14 streams to over 160,000 spectators. The 8 VGC World Champions of the decade took part on the show, aiming to showcase high level competitive play in the newest format, VGC20 in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
As for the stats, the show saw:
- +20,000 average spectators during the day
- +30,000 spectators peak
- +240,000 unique spectators across all streams

According to the rules announced (on this thread), only users that (1) follow Victory Road (@VGCVictoryRoad) on Twitter, (2) retweet the giveaway’s announcement post (this Tweet) and (3) tweet at the eventual winner (Sejun Park) with the show’s official hashtag (#TeamSejunVR) within the time deadline estipulated (before the show, on December 28th, 2019 at 1 PM UTC) are eligible for the prize.
In order to select the 3 winners in the announced order (that is, 3rd prize, 2nd prize and 1st prize), we conducted random picks with retweetpicker to check for the users having retweeted the main post. Then, we manually check if they supported #TeamSejunVR within the time deadlines. If true, they are picked as the winner (first, the 3rd prize; once that’s done, the 2nd one; and finally the major prize winner). If not, another user is randomly drawn by the app until all 3 prizes are allocated.
