Overview
The Malaysia Premier Ball LeagueĀ is an official TPC Regional-level event for players in Malaysia, where TPC is responsible for the circuit since 2020. The Premier Ball League had last been held in the 2025 season, as the circuit abandoned it for the 2026 season.
It is the only Regional-level tournament in the 2027 seasonĀ in the Malaysian circuit before the Master Ball League at the end of the season.
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists.
The timer rules are modified in this tournament: it’s 15 minutes overall for each game.
A little bit of history
MalaysiaĀ has been one of the regions of the official TPC circuit since June 2020, and it was part of the Oceania region of the official TPCi circuit before that. It has hosted multiple major events, including TPCi-era Regional Championships and Special Events, and TPC-era National Championships. Malaysiaās greatest VGC success were the National Championships won byĀ Zarif AymanĀ in Singapore in 2015 and byĀ Kevin Ngim,Ā Wan Aqil,Ā Gary Ng,Ā Lee Jin YangĀ and Sow Wei Harng in Malaysia in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, respectively.
The most recent tournament held in Malaysia was theĀ 2026 Malaysia Master Ball League, hosted in Petaling Jaya, played with the VGC Regulation Set M-A in May 2026. The finals saw Malaysian player Sow Wei Harng defeat 2024 Malaysian Championships finalist Ng Chee WoonĀ to win his first National title!
As for Regional-level events, the last one held in Malaysia was the 2025 Malaysia Premier Ball League, also hosted in Petaling Jaya and played in PokƩmon Scarlet and Violet with the Regulation Set H in December 2024. The finals saw 2022 Malaysia Champion Kevin Ngim defeat 2022 Malaysia Championships quarterfinalist Dennis Sia to win his first Regional-level and second major title!
