Streaming

The event is broadcast live on Twitch and YouTubeĀ by TPCi, with Sierra Dawn, Jake Muller, Len Deuel, Joe Brown, Aaron Zheng and Rosemary Kelley as casters.

Wristbands can be picked up in advance on Friday 18 September from 11:30 am to 7 pm EDT, or early on Saturday from 6:30 am EDT.

Players must be in the venue by 19 September at 8:30 am EDTĀ (12:30 UTC) for the players meeting. The tournament starts thereafter with the Swiss rounds (all of Phase 1 + one round of Phase 2). Seniors and Juniors start 30 minutes later.

Players still on the run in Day 2 must be in the venue byĀ 20 September at 8:30 am EDTĀ (12:30 UTC) for the team checks. The next Swiss rounds and the Top Cut will be played thereafter.

Prizes

This event is part of theĀ 2027 official TPCi circuitĀ and thus it rewards Championship Points (CPs).

Additionally, the best-placed players will receive the following CPs, prize moneyĀ and PokĆ©mon TCG booster packs depending on final attendance:

If prize money is $5000 or more, it will be given as a choice of scholarship (in all cases) or cash (for minors, as a PokĆ©mon VisaĀ® Prepaid Card). For lower prizes, it will be given as cash (for minors, as a PokĆ©mon VisaĀ® Prepaid Card).

Overview

The Baltimore Regional ChampionshipsĀ is an official TPCi Regional-level event for PokĆ©mon VGC, TCG and PokĆ©mon GO.Ā It is the first Regional-level event of theĀ 2027 seasonĀ in the North American circuit.

The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists. It is the first event in the world to feature this ruleset!

A little bit of history

The United States has been part of the North America region of the official TPCi circuit since the very beginning, also being home to the TPCi headquarters. It has hosted multiple major events, including Regional Championships, old-era National Championships, all editions of the North America International ChampionshipsĀ and most World Championships (only excluding 2013, 2022 and 2023).Ā The United States’ greatest VGC success are the five World Championship wins achieved byĀ Ray RizzoĀ (2010, 2011 andĀ 2012),Ā Wolfe GlickĀ (2016) and Giovanni Cischke (2025), not even counting being the home country of 7 Senior Division and 7 Junior Division World Champions too.

The most recent tournament held in the United States was the 2026 World Championships, played in San Francisco, CA, with the VGC Regulation Set M-B the previous month. The finals saw Japanese player Takuma Yamazaki defeat 2026 PJCS Champion Hiroshi Onishi to be crowned as the World Champion!

As for Regional-level events, the last one held in the United StatesĀ was theĀ 2026 Indianapolis Regional Championships, played with the VGC Regulation Set M-A in May 2026. The finals saw American player Arsal Puri defeat 2016 World Champion Wolfe Glick to win his first Regional title!

The last time there was an event in the state ofĀ MarylandĀ was the 2025 Baltimore Regional Championships, played in PokĆ©mon Scarlet & PokĆ©mon Violet with the VGC Regulation Set H in September 2024. The finals saw American first-time player Nicholas Morales defeat 2023 EUIC Champion Paul ChuaĀ to win his first Regional title!

Sign-up instructions

Sign-ups for the event are done through RK9 Labs platform, and you will first need to set up your RK9 profileĀ and have aĀ Play! PokĆ©mon Player ID.

Sign-ups are $80Ā for Masters players and $40Ā for Senior and Junior players, andĀ they open on 5 August at 7 pm EDT (23:00 UTC). Refunds are partially available up until one week before the event.

If the player cap is not reached, sign-ups close 3 days before the event starts, on 16 September.

For registered players, team lists must be submitted 1 hour before the event starts, by 19 September at 7:30 am EDT (11:30 UTC).
