Platform and schedule
The tournament is held online, in your PokĆ©mon Scarlet or PokĆ©mon Violet game, at the Online competitions section of the PokĆ© Portal’s Battle Stadium.
The tournament starts on 21 May 2023 at 9:00 PHT (01:00 UTC). You are able to play up to 10 battles until 15:00 PHT (07:00 UTC).
You need to complete at least 5 battles to be eligible for prizes.
Prizes
This event is an official Online Competition, and is part of theĀ 2023 official circuitĀ in the Philippines.
As a participation prize, any player that finishes at least 5 battles will receive 10,000 League Points.
Additionally, the top 64 players qualify to theĀ 2023 Philippines National Championships, to be held online on 3 June.

Overview
The 2023 Philippines Nationals Qualifiers is an official Online Competition featuring double battles, and isĀ region-locked.Ā It is the fifth Online Competition in PokĆ©mon Scarlet and PokĆ©mon Violet games for players in the Philippines, and the first one relevant in the VGC circuit for them.
Online Competitions are usually a part of the casual gameplay, but they have been featured in the official circuit for some years now. Region-locked Online Competitions are something new to PokƩmon Scarlet and PokƩmon Violet, and they have been chosen to act as qualifiers to the National Championships in South East Asia or even as National Championships themselves.
The previous edition of the Philippines National Championships wasĀ open to everyone. This is the first time that a qualifying method has been implemented. Initially, this was announced to be the National Championship itself. However,Ā the structure was changed on 12 MayĀ to announce this would be the Qualifier to a further stage on 3 June.
A little bit of history
The PhilippinesĀ has been one of the regions hosting an the official TPC circuit since June 2020, and it was part of the Oceania region of the official TPCI circuit before that. Since the TPC takeover, it has taken part in Asia online tournaments, such as the Asia Players Cup, and has hosted the first-ever live event in 2022, the National Championship. The Philippines’ greatest VGC success wasĀ Patrick Elegado‘s 2022 National Championship win.
The most recent tournament held in theĀ Philippines was theĀ 2022Ā Philippines National Championships, played online (Swiss rounds) and in Quezon City (top cut) with the PokĆ©mon Sword & PokĆ©mon Shield VGC Series 12 ruleset in May and June 2022. The finals saw FilipinoĀ Patrick ElegadoĀ defeat fellow countrymanĀ James CredoĀ to be crowned as first-ever Philippines National Champion.
AmericanĀ James Evans, theĀ 2018 Senior Division World Champion, defeated BrazilianĀ Gabriel AgatiĀ in the NAIC finals.
