Custom format
This competition features double battles.
Your team may have any PokƩmon from the Paldea Regional PokƩdex, including Paradox PokƩmon, the Treasures of Ruin, Koraidon and Miraidon; but with only one Restricted PokƩmon. Your team cannot have two PokƩmon of the same species or holding the same item.

Platform and schedule
The tournament is held online, in your PokĆ©mon Scarlet or PokĆ©mon Violet game, at the Online competitions section of the PokĆ© Portal’s Battle Stadium.
The tournament starts on 10 March 2023 at 00:00 UTC. You will be able to play up to 15 battles on 10 March, up to 30 battles by 11 March and up to 45 battles by 12 March. You will be able to enter any battle until 12 March 2023 at 23:59 UTC.
Prizes
This event is an official Online Competition, but isĀ not a part of anyĀ 2023 official circuit. This means thatĀ it does not reward any Championship Points (CPs).
This is intended as a fun tournament and no prizes are given to the top-ranking players. Any player that finishes at least one battle will receive 10,000 League Points.

The Paldea Prologue is an official Online Competition featuring double battles.Ā It is the first Online Competition in PokĆ©mon Scarlet and PokĆ©mon Violet games!
A little bit of history
Online Competitions are usually a part of the casual gameplay, but they have been featured in the official circuit for some years now. They are one of the few tournaments in which all world regions play together, and it generally grants National invites in TPC regions and Championship Points in TPCI regions.
The most recent Online CompetitionĀ was the Ultimate Finale, played in PokĆ©mon Sword & PokĆ©mon ShieldĀ in October 2022 and featuring double battles. The custom ruleset allowed for any PokĆ©mon available in Galar, with the possibility of duplicating PokĆ©mon and items. First place was earned by JapaneseĀ Yuta Takahashi, who used a team featuring five Restricted PokĆ©mon, including two Kyogre. Yuta beat fellow countrymanĀ Shu Suezaki, who also used a team featuring five Restricted PokĆ©mon, but with two Zacian.
AmericanĀ James Evans, theĀ 2018 Senior Division World Champion, defeated BrazilianĀ Gabriel AgatiĀ in the NAIC finals.
Sign-up instructions
Sign-ups for the event are done through your own PokĆ©mon Scarlet or PokĆ©mon Violet game. To register, enter the PokĆ© Portal ā Battle Stadium ā Online competitions ā Search for a competition (in the Official Competitions column).
You will need to register and lock a team at the time of registration.
Contrary to the Online Competitions of previous games, sign-ups are open from announcement, live at any time until the tournament ends on 12 March at 23:59 UTC.
