Four new Regional Championships have been announced in Oceania and North and Latin America! They will be held in Brisbane, Australia, on 1–2 November; in Seattle, USA, on 27 Feb–1 Mar; in Curitiba, Brazil on 14–15 Mar; and in Campinas, Brazil on 16–17 May.
With the introduction of Nintendo Switch 2, TPCi has announced that it will no longer provide HORI stands in major events, instead providing USB hubs for connectivity between the different devices. Also, dynamic seating is introduced as a possibility for certain events, with not all players playing at the same time in Swiss rounds.
This update most notably includes the new tournament structure for major events in the 2026 season, with the added Swiss round in Day 2 and the limit of 16 players in top cut.
This document, which replaces the old VG Rules, Formats and Penalties, sets the guidelines for VGC tournaments in the 2026 season. The most major change is the inclusion of Nintendo Switch 2!
