Overview
The Taiwan Premier Ball LeagueĀ is an official TPC Regional-level event for players in Taiwan, where TPC is responsible for the circuit since 2020. The Premier Ball League had last been held in the 2025 season, as the circuit abandoned it for the 2026 season.
It is the only Regional-level tournament in the 2027 seasonĀ in the Taiwanese circuit before the Master Ball League at the end of the season.
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists.
The timer rules are modified in this tournament: it’s 15 minutes overall for each game.
A little bit of history
TaiwanĀ has been one of the regions hosting the official TPC circuit since June 2020, and it was part of the Oceania region of the official TPCI circuit before that. It has hosted multiple major events, including Regional Championships, Special Events, and both TPCi-era and current TPC-era National Championships. It was the only region in the world to consistently host major live events during the 2020ā2022 seasons. Taiwanās greatest VGC success wasĀ Wu PiāsĀ 2019 Junior Division World ChampionshipĀ win.
The most recent tournament held in Taiwan was theĀ 2026 Taiwan Master Ball League, hosted in Taichung, played with the VGC Regulation Set M-A in June 2026. The finals saw Taiwanese player Chen Yu-WeiĀ defeat 2022 Kaohsiung Regional League Champion Liu Jian-Ting to win his first National title!
As for Regional-level events, the last one held in Taiwan was the 2025 Taiwan Premier Ball League, hosted in Taipei and played in PokĆ©mon Scarlet and Violet with the Regulation Set H in NovemberāDecember 2024. The finals saw 2024 Taiwan Championships quarterfinalist Chiu Chih-Hung defeat fellow Taiwanese player Fang Yu-Yang to win his first major title! Chih-Hung would go on to also win the Master Ball League later that season.
