Sign-ups for the event are done through the Play LATAM platform, and you will first need to set up your Play LATAM profile and have a Play! Pokémon Player ID.
Sign-ups (cost to be announced soon) open on 23 September at 19:00 local time (22:00 UTC).

Overview
The Buenos Aires Special Championships is an official TPCi Regional-level event for Pokémon VGC, TCG and Pokémon GO. It is the third Regional-level event and first Special Championships of the 2027 season in the Latin American circuit.
The ruleset is VGC Regulation Set M-C, and it is played using open team lists.
A little bit of history
Argentina has been part of the Latin America region of the official TPCi circuit for many years. It has hosted multiple major events, including Special Events, Regionals and old-era National Championships. Argentina’s greatest VGC successes are the Worlds top 8 finishes achieved by Sebastián Escalante in 2017 and Federico Turano in 2018. Additionally, Argentine players have proven themselves as a major team force and they reached the finals of the 2023 World Cup of Pokémon VGC.
The most recent tournament held in Argentina was the 2026 Buenos Aires Special Championships, played in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet with the VGC Regulation Set H in November 2025. The finals saw 2017 Cancún SC Champion Kenneth Gamboa defeat 2025 Rio de Janeiro Regional Champion Juan Salerno to win his second major title!
