Changes to the online VR Challenges are announced towards a free Victory Road to San Francisco!

Victory Road hosted over 20 online VR Challenges throughout last season, starting in September 2024 until one week before the 2025 World Championships. Our aim is to continue this trend for the 2026 season, offering players an online, high-level environment where the best in the world practice, try out teams before live tournaments, and earn cash prizes. Many top-level players started their competitive journeys with breakout performances in our online tournaments, such as recent Frankfurt Regional ChampionĀ Emanuele Briganti, who won his first big one inĀ a 400-player VR tournamentĀ in 2021.

For over 3 years we’ve kept the entry fees to our tournaments at $10, with $8.50 of it destined to the prizepools, despite the increasing costs of hosting such large tournaments. Going forward, we’re increasing the entry fees to $11.50: this includes $0.50 that will go to staff and general costs, and an extra $1 as part of an accumulated prizepool for a free-to-enter tournament to be held next summer, the Victory Road to San Francisco, ahead of the 2026 World Championships! Taking as reference the 2025 season’s VR Challenges attendance numbers, we’re talking about a $5,000+ prizepool for this free-to-enter tournament!

The Victory Road to San Francisco will be a 2-phase tournament: most players will start the tournament from the usual round 1, but all the VR Challenge winners during the current season, including theĀ VR August ChallengeĀ ChampionĀ Shohei Kimura, will have a direct invite to the second phase of the tournament.

We’re looking forward to your participation in this new grassroots circuit. Thank you!
