Structure
Only players with Korean nationality or residency could compete in the Crown Tournament. The 125 registered players would clash in a double-elimination bracket in this way:
- Best-of-one matches up to top 16 (winners’ round 5 / losers’ round 8)
- Best-of-three matches for top 8 (winners’ semifinals / losers’ rounds 9 and 10)
- These rounds would be played during three weekends (28–29 November, 5–6 December and 12–13 December 2020)
The Top 4 matches would be played and broadcast live from Seoul, South Korea, on 19 December 2020. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, these matches were postponed indefinitely.
The Top 4 matches were finally pre-recorded and broadcast on 6 February 2021.
