About Pokémon HOME

In Pokémon Champions, players can use Pokémon from almost any other main series videogame title… as long as they are available in Champions. In order to get those Pokémon, you need to download the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME.

Pokémon HOME has a basic plan (free) and a premium plan (paid). The main differences between plans are:

  • Available box space: 30 Pokémon in the basic plan vs 6,000 Pokémon in the premium plan
  • Connectivity with older titles: the premium plan is needed to connect with the Nintendo 3DS’s Pokémon Bank.

The premium plan is available as a 1-month, 3-month or 12-month subscription in the Nintendo eShop; check your region’s Nintendo eShop for details in prices.

These are the games you can bring Pokémon from in order to be able to send them to visit Pokémon Champions:

  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A
  • Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet
  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus
  • Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl
  • Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
  • Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee!
  • Pokémon GO
    • The mobile app version of Pokémon HOME is needed to send Pokémon from Pokémon GO.
  • All Nintendo 3DS (and older) games with an active Pokémon Bank
    • Pokémon HOME‘s premium plan is needed to send Pokémon from Pokémon Bank.

It is expected that these other titles will be added to the list at some point in the future:

  • The Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen
  • Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves

Pokémon sent to visit

The Pokémon that you bring from other games have some associated training with them: Abilities, movesets, even training!

When you send a Pokémon to visit Pokémon Champions, the previous training of the Pokémon is saved in Pokémon HOME separately from the training you change in Pokémon Champions. As such, any changes made in Pokémon Champions are voided when the Pokémon is sent back and transferred to other titles. However, if you send that same Pokémon again to visit Pokémon Champions, the changes you made in a previous visit will be maintained (unless the Pokémon returns in a different form).

Due to the new stat system in Pokémon Champions, Pokémon sent to visit will set all their IVs to 31, while maintaining any training (EVs) from Pokémon HOME the first time it is sent.
