Overview
The 2024 Global Challenge II is an official Online Competition featuring double battles. It is the ninth globally available Online Competition and the fifth Global Challenge in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games.
A little bit of history
Online Competitions are usually a part of the casual gameplay, but they have been featured in the official circuit for some years now. They are one of the few tournaments in which all world regions play together, and it generally grants National invites in TPC regions and Championship Points in TPCi regions.
The most recent Online Competition was the 2024 Global Challenge I, played in February 2024 with the VGC Regulation Set F. This Online Competition also awarded CP for players in TPCi regions, Japan National invites for the top 150 players in Japan and Pokémon Trainers Cup invites for the top 50 players in South Korea. First place was earned by Korean Junhwan Kim, who earned a rating of 1813 with this team and qualified to the online stage of the Trainers Cup. Junhwan beat American Darius Thomas, who earned a rating of 1811 with this team and earned the coveted 160 Championship Points of TPCi regions.
American James Evans, the 2018 Senior Division World Champion, defeated Brazilian Gabriel Agati in the NAIC finals.
